College

Well I did it. I just applied to Bellevue University to finish my bachelors degree.

I plan on starting in May. It will all depends on Abigail though. If she needs more of my time then I will wait another month probably. Thankfully I have my family at home to help me when I need to get my work done.

I have 12 classes to do and Bellevue allows me to do an accelerated program to finish in a year. Each class is 4 weeks long and only one at a time. I am very excited about this. It should go by fast and I don't think I will get overwhelmed.

If I start in May then I should finish by the following May. I can't wait to just get this degree over with! It needs to get done and I'm thankful to have this year for the perfect opportunity. With my husband being deployed I'll be able to keep my attention on our baby girl and school.

Now I just have to figure out financial aid and get everything situated and I'll be good to go :-)

I'm nervous but excited and determined. I guess here goes nothing!

My husband is amazing.

The man of my dreams always surprises me on holidays. 2 years ago for Valentine's we went to Cape Cod and he proposed! Last year he snuck out early and got me two dvds I had wanted and a wonderful teddy bear that our dog ate the ears and heart off of. Which I still have as a memento.

All of that and he still manages to top himself every year. This year he got me 3 of the most beautiful roses I've ever seen. One for each of the years we have been together. It was so incredibly romantic of him that I almost cried. Could have been the hormones but either way tears almost came out.

I secretly hope that he makes this a tradition. SHH. Obviously when we are together for 50 years that could get a little ridiculous (and expensive). Maybe we will have to have a rose bush.

Valentine's day may be a little cheesy but I look forward to it every year because my husband always lets his romantic side out and I just love it :-)

I bought him a book that he wanted and it was one of 3 copies left in Jacksonville! They were sold out at Barnes and Nobles but had 3 copies left at Books A Million (which I had never been to). It was surprisingly a great book store and I'm so very thankful that they had this book.

It was just released this month but I never expected it to be sold out. I guess more people love Nascar than I thought.

I also treated myself to a wonderful pedicure. One of those really awesome ones with the massage chairs and they massage your legs and feet. It was amazing on my back, but my feet were still swollen from walking around lol.

So anyways, I had a wonderful valentines day and am going to go enjoy the rest of it with my husband.

I hope all of your Valentines days were wonderful.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am an extremely lucky girl. My husband has been in the Marine Corps for about 2 years now. I am so thankful because we have gotten to spend 2 Valentine's in a row together :-) Technically 3 if you count the Valentine's right before he left for boot camp (the weekend we got engaged).

Sure, we have missed a few birthdays in this time but we have been lucky enough to also spend our Thanksgivings, Christmases, and New Years together. It makes this next year seem a little better when I think of how lucky I have been.

The one thing I will always be thankful to the military for is allowing my family to really appreciate the little things in life. When you can be genuinely happy because you got to see your husband on the same day 2 years in a row it makes life that much more special.

I Love You Mr. Sykes<3 Thank you for being my Valentine once again<3

What I chose

I blogged about struggling with the idea of a bouncer. Well I found something even better.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Fisher-Price-Newborn-to-Toddler-Portable-Rocker/12338148

That is portable rocker. It adjusts to grow with you baby until they are toddlers! It vibrates and rocks which is perfect for what I wanted it for. It also has a removable toy bar.

All of the reviews said how they wish they found this before they bought bouncers that their baby's outgrew. I am sooo excited that I found this!!

Question for the Mommies

I'm in my super nesting phase right now. I am trying to make sure I have everything necessary for our little girl. I have one question.

What is your opinion on bouncers for newborns? Since I will be going back home just a couple weeks after she is born is it necessary to get one before she is born or wait until I get back to NY?

I'm obviously new at all of this. I know that she will sleep, eat and poop but are they good for being able to have her in the same room as me or completely pointless for the first couple weeks?

Any advice would be awesome :-)

Thanks!
