Hellooooo August :-)

I can't believe it's August already! Where does the time go? This time last year I was in Burlington Vermont and having a blast. Now I am in North Carolina with my amazing husband. Life is quite the ride.

I know I have been quite the complainer lately but today I realized something. It's all worth it. I woke up this morning and looked at my husband and just felt extremely lucky and happy to have him with me. No matter where we live or where either of us are it will always be worth it because we have each other. So yea, we would love to be out in San Diego but for now North Carolina is just fine. I will probably be moving home next year anyways because he will be deploying for a year.

I always thought it was strange that wives moved back home when their husbands deploy. Then I realized he would be gone for a year and we would have a brand new baby and I would be all alone. If he was leaving for 6 months I would tough it out but I am taking advantage of this to be home with my family and his family and getting all of the help and love I will need. We're really lucky that we only lived a couple minutes from each other back home. Makes for easy holidays haha.

Anyways, it's breakfast time and our neighbors are making us a huge feast. Can't wait!!

P.S. Happy 20th Birthday to Anna Banana over at Showtimes and Dog Tags<3 Go wish her a good one!

  1. I always said that I wouldn't go to live with parents when the hubby deployed but when you have a newborn its definitely a good idea! I love your new attitude to life : )

  2. I am pretty fond of my new attitude as well :-) Your situation is similar to what I will be going through expect my hubs will be here for the whole pregnancy and possibly not the birth. And my family only lives 13 hrs away and yours in a whole ocean away!

  3. We thought about starting to try to get pregnant within the next few months and if that happened I'd be in a similar situation as you! I never considered going home when hubby deployed but it really does make sense in some cases, especially with a new baby :)

We all have our moments when life stresses us out and we need to vent (that's one of the reasons I like blogging; I can let out some frustrations). But eventually you move forward and look at the bright side, which you've done. Keep thinking positive, girl!

  4. Good to hear. I read your title and was like "babe...is it august?" CRAZY!!! I never understood the moving back home thing. My hubs has been deployed a few times in the 2 years we've been in Tampa and I never moved home. But my kids are 4 and 2. They are involved in a lot of activites and school...cant' just up root them. And we have a house off base...just too many responsibilities. Im not sure what I would do if I had a brand new baby though? And I didnt know you were from Vermont!! Im From Mass :) Yay for New Englanders!

  5. I'm not from Vermont, I'm from NY. I just went to college in Vermont :-) I really never thought going home was a good idea but having a literally brand spaking new baby, as in he will be leaving either right before or right after the baby is born, moving home to be around all of my family makes a lot of sense. Once he gets back from deployment he will have his next duty station assignment so leaving our house doesn't bother us too much. I guess everything is situational and I feel like going home is what I have to do.

Thank you all for your words and support<3 You girls are the best<3
