Birth control

Today I had my "6 week" check up from my C-Section. It's actually been over 8 weeks but who's counting. Everything is golden. I got on birth control again. I was bummed because I really wanted Mirena so I didn't have to worry about taking a pill, getting a patch, doing the ring thing, or getting a shot but since my reproductive system is all duplicated and such I wouldn't be able to use it.

So instead I am on Seasonique. Sure, I have to remember to take a pill every day but I'm ok with that. The upside is I will only get my period 4 times a year and each period should only be 3 days long and a light flow. I'm SUPER excited about this because I hate my period. I hate it more than the normal woman does.

You see because of my lovely reproductive system and the way it is I can't use tampons. Yea. Now I don't mind that so much because the idea of tampons grosses me the hell out anyways and I actually don't mind wearing pads. The big downside though is that when I have my period I can't go swimming since I obviously can't wear a pad in the water. Having my period only 4 times a year for only 3 days I'm sure I'll be able to handle not going to the beach for 3 days.

I don't think I have ever been so happy to be on birth control. I love my daughter but in no way, shape or form do I want another child just yet.

Right now I have the best form, abstinence. Or deprivation really. But when Mr. Sykes comes home on R&R all of that is out the door and I'm making sure we have a baby sitter for at least one full night. If you catch my drift.

This might be the most open about my sex life and period I will ever be. My dad reads this and I hope I didn't just completely gross him out. Sorry daddy <3 , but in order to give you that beautiful granddaughter, had to have known.

Oh speaking of that beautiful little girl of mine... I fully mean to brag that she slept for 11 hours last night; 10 the night before that. Although she usually doesn't pull those kinds of numbers she always pulls at least an 8. Screw what those parenting books say, there is such a thing as a good baby and boy is mine GREAT!
The date is completely wrong if you caught that.

Ok, gross and bragging post over.

  1. you say you have a duplicate reproductive system. I am familiar with this, I have a septum in my uterus which is a MUCH less extreme form, but cause by the same "deformity" while being developed in mom's womb. How drastic is yours? duplicate of EVERYTHING, or only of ceratin parts. as a medical professional , I have always been fascinated by this concept!
There is a woman I came in contact with at my job that had 2 of EVERYTHING...starting w/ her vagina. one set was perfect and working, she ovulated, and could carry a child on that side. the other side was non-working. So when they wanted to get pregnant, they "did it" in one...and when they didnt want to get pregnant, they "did it" in the other...what a PERFECT form of birth control!!! LOL. my docs are afraid of the septum causeing IUGR and preterm labor further along in my pregnancy....did you have any of these issues? Sorry if this is personal. Just trying to get info:-) feel free to email me:-)

  2. I take the pill and I have been curious about seasonique... but I have such a sensitive stomach I am a bit nervous about changing brands! Orthotricyclin made me soooo sick but Yaz is ok, so I don't know if I am brave enough to try a new one.

Wow, we are all doing all sorts of sharing aren't we? Haha.

And that baby girl of yours is so stinkin cute! And awesome too apparently as she actually sleeps!

  3. Depending on how comfortable you are with your period and how heavy it is you technically can go swimming without a tampon. When submerged in water you wont bleed, however when you get out of the water you will again, so on a heavy day not recommended, but on a light day its not really that big of a deal

  4. I'm really confused when you say double..does this mean you have two of everything down there?..well besides the obvious, haha!

I was on seasonique for awhile too, and I LOVED it, but I'm currently off birth control, because well when soon to be Mr. comes home, we're trying! :)

  5. I'm so excited for you Candice! And by double, yea I mean I have 2 of everything lol. Except ovaries. I don't have a double set of those.
